Midtown

The neighborhood just east of downtown, known for tree-lined streets, Victorians, restaurants and the monthly Second Saturday art walk.

Midtown sits just east of Downtown. Officially its borders are J Street, R Street, 16th Street and 30th Street, though the name is often used for the whole older grid east of 16th Street. It is largely residential, with tree-lined streets and old Victorians, and is the center of the city’s art, music and cultural scene.

Its Second Saturday art walk draws thousands each month, and the district contains Lavender Heights, around K and 20th Streets, a hub of the city’s LGBTQ+ community.
